Katie Killacky is a classically trained actress, born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, with a BFA from the University of Illinois. She has appeared in TV, film and over 30 national and regional commercials. While living in Los Angeles, she performed stand up comedy while making her living as a commercial actress. After a decade in LA, she returned to her hometown of Chicago where she worked as a casting associate at one of the premier casting companies in the city, as well as a comedy contributor for various publications. Being on the other side of the camera allowed Katie to witness the struggles her fellow actors faced when it came to auditioning; struggles she was all too familiar with. She started to develop a curriculum based on the lessons she wished someone would have passed on to her when she was fresh out of theatre school. She began teaching and found her experience on the casting and writing side of the process gave her invaluable tools to assist her students in auditioning successfully.
When she relocated to the east coast, she found herself acting and freelance casting once again, while getting to know the inner workings of the Mid-Atlantic market. With a continued desire to share her skills and experience of several different markets and perspectives, she founded Capital Coaching in 2015. She continues to work and study on a national level so that her curriculum is always evolving and stays current with the ever-changing industry and needs of her students. A proud member of SAG/AFTRA, WIFV, AEMS, and NAPW, Katie teaches all over the DMV area and lives in Maryland with her husband and two daughters.
